Once Upon a Time...

Everyone has a story... and everyone's story is a part of HIStory.

Sometimes I think about all the amazing people I've come to know in the 22 years I've had on this earth.

I think about my friends here in Australia, that have come from all corners of the world to be in the same College that I am - I would not have met them otherwise. It baffles me to think of this. Some of these people... I could not imagine not knowing them.

And then I think... there are 6 billion people on this planet. How many people have I still yet to meet? Obviously not all of them, but I just think, just because I don't know someone, doesn't mean that they don't have an incredible story or that they're not an amazing person... and that I could just as easily become great friends with them, as I have with the people in my world.

It's a shame... how many people I WON'T meet, in my time here on this earth.

I intend to meet as many of them as possible.

In Christ Alone

This song is just so beautiful. It really hits me in a powerful way... and I find myself in tears, and in awe of the depth of His love. When He should have hated me, instead He died for me. When my sins had forced a gap too wide for me to bridge... a debt that was beyond impossible for me to pay, He set me free!

I think that too often, we as Christians don't understand the value of this. How can we understand how free we are, if we do not understand how hopeless we were?

I challenge you: take a moment today, to wrap your head around what He has done for you. It may change the way you see and live this life He has given.

In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ, I stand

There in the ground, His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth, in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as he stand in victory, sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His, and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ, in me
From life's first cry, to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns, or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ, I'll stand.

Till he returns, or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ,
I'll stand.
